Based on the rave reviews our friends gave you, we expected that you would be a wonderful baby nurse. You have far exceeded even our highest expectations.
Very early in the pregnancy, some of our friends and relatives were adamant about the importance of hiring a baby nurse. Our friends you had worked for insisted that we hire you. We thought it sounded like a good idea but truly had no idea of how valuable you would be to us. These first two weeks of Jack's life, we have sung your praises nonstop to each other and to all of our visitors. We could not think of any better advice to prospective parents than to hire you immediately to help care for their newborn.
From the first day that we arrived home from the hospital with Jack, fully aware that we didn't know how to take care of this tiny addition to our family, you were an incredible source of comfort for us. That first afternoon we knew we were in exceptionally good hands when you walked into the nursery and turned on classical music for Jack to listen to and then organized the closet and changing table to make all the supplies easily accessible to us.
Over the past two weeks, you have taught us the daily skills we need to care for Jack - how to diaper, give a sponge bath, swaddle tightly, burp him, calm and comfort him when he is fussy, wake him when he falls asleep feeding, and schedule his sleep and feeding patterns. You have also provided excellent advice about breastfeeding, including how to get him to latch on properly, the foods to eat to increase the milk production and its fat content, and the foods to avoid while breastfeeding. Today at our two-week appointment at the pediatrician, we had the wonderful news that Jack has not only returned to his birth weight but he has surpassed it - gaining an ounce a day over the past nine days.
You have taught us far more than the basics of baby care. We have learned from you the importance of varying the music in the nursery to set a rhythm for the day and night, reading a story to Jack every day even in his infancy, and listening and responding to his expressions and reactions.
We thank you not only for all that you have taught us, but also for all the special things you have done that demonstrate your caring and support; giving us the mother's heartbeat CD, calling to check on us immediately after an earthquake, and buying us a kit with the baby nail file we couldn't find anywhere.
You have given us - and Jack - great comfort and confidence by sharing your skills, knowledge, and warmth with us. While we are very sad that tonight will be your last night with us, we are relieved that you are only a phone call away.
We would be delighted to talk to any of your prospective clients, if they want to speak to references about you
Sincerely,

Vonda is an absolute life saver. She is such a natural with babies that our newborn was comfortable with her immediately. From the moment she entered our home she carried herself with the utmost professionalism. Each day she helped us to ease our baby into a schedule, as well as easing us into a better understanding of how to best maintain that schedule and how to change it as the baby grows.
We so thoroughly appreciated her knowledge and skill that we always asked her advise and questions. We also always followed that advice! We needed her help with everything from how to create
a serene and healthy environment in the nursery to diet and lactation insight. Leia loves
her so much - she will miss Vonda!
Sincerely,
